What began as a vision for a charming Nantucket wedding for the Marasco’s, ultimately became something even more personal: an intimate celebration rooted in family, childhood memories, and a place that was always close to the bride’s heart.

Tomirah and Devan wanted their wedding day to feel intimate and romantic, the couple chose to have the ceremony in a small chapel just minutes from the bride’s family home. The chapel is no longer in operation today, but the bride had loved it since she was a little girl. She reached out to the township to ask if they would allow her to use the space for their wedding and they said yes!

AN INTIMATE BEGINNING AND A GARDEN-FILLED CELEBRATION

Surrounded by just 60 of their closest family and friends, the couple created a ceremony that felt so personal and effortlessly beautiful. Originally planning to marry in Nantucket, the bride brought that East Coast charm into the day through a light and airy aesthetic, lining the chapel with hydrangeas (they look like they belonged there all along!) and welcoming guests with champagne. A violinist played throughout the ceremony and as guests arrived, while their beloved pup took on the sweetest role of all: ring bearer.

With only the people they felt most loved around in the room, the ceremony felt intimate rather than nerve-wracking. Afterward, the couple slipped away for private vows… one of the bride’s favourite moments of the entire day.

THE RECEPTION

Set on the family estate in Laird, the celebration continued beneath a beautifully draped tented setting. Every detail felt thoughtfully considered, from sculptural swan ice sculptures and indulgent caviar and oysters to an incredible six-foot wedding cake surrounded by lush white florals. Guests gathered for an unforgettable evening of dinner, heartfelt speeches and plenty of time spent together, creating a reception that felt as luxurious as it was deeply personal.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE MOMENT FROM YOUR WEDDING?

“My favourite moment was definitely the ceremony. Seeing Devan for the first time and how gorgeous the church turned out was such a surreal moment that I will never forget. I felt so calm when I saw him, and the way he looked at me was so sweet. I’ve never felt so loved and special in my life! Marrying your best friend in such a special venue that reminds you of core memories in your childhood, it’s just the happiest moment of my life. something I can’t truly put into words.” — Tomirah

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST DANCE SONG?

“Nothing Can Change This Love by Sam Cooke. I honestly went back-and-forth with so many first dance songs. But I really love the lyrics and message behind this one and it felt very vintage and romantic. It talks about always choosing each other, loving each other unconditionally and coming back to each other always. It reminded me of our relationship and how no matter where life took us we always came back to each other. It just felt like a great fit.” — Tomirah

STYLE MOMENTS

The fashion moments were every bit as unforgettable as the day itself. The bride walked down the aisle in the breathtaking Anastasia ball gown by Leah Da Gloria, sourced from White Toronto, pairing its romantic silhouette with pear-shaped teardrop earrings and a delicate lace-trimmed Monique Lhuillier veil.

For the reception, she changed into an equally show-stopping off-the-shoulder Floure Studio gown, completely embellished with intricate beading and abundant floral appliqué.

Devan complemented her effortlessly in a classic Tom Ford tuxedo for the ceremony. And as every groom should have their moment too, Devon switched into a cream Tom Ford tuxedo jacket for the reception, an elevated change that brought a fresh, fashion-forward feel to the evening.

THE NIGHT BEFORE

The celebrations began the evening before the wedding with an intimate gathering of the couple’s bridal party, their spouses, and immediate families. After a ceremony run-through at the church, everyone gathered for a candlelit dinner filled with beautiful, understated details and an effortlessly romantic atmosphere. Live piano and saxophone set the mood throughout the evening, with a cake cutting of a charming swan-designed cake served as the sweetest finishing touch to a meaningful night spent surrounded by the people closest to them.

A NOTE TO COUPLES PLANNING THEIR DAY

Have a very strong point of view. When it comes to decor and overall vibe stay very true to what you and your spouse love. Down to every last detail. It is your day do what you want. Try not to let the opinions of others sway you, or pressure you into making decisions that don’t feel genuine. Enjoy all the little moments, it goes so fast! I also really enjoyed doing a sweetheart table with just myself and my husband so we had the entire dinner to be together and debrief. so many people wanna talk to you and it’s easy to get pulled in different directions, so having dinner together was so special.
